Sixth year of the conference Our common present subtitled Great expectations, projects and mistakes – efforts to understand and control nature in the past and the present was held at March 31 and April 1, 2016 at Charles University in Prague. The conference focused on the succesfull and unsuccesfull human interventions into the nature, including its historical, present and future aspects. The conference had both Czech-Slovak (March 31) and English (April 1) sections.

The conference was organized by Environment Center and Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, Institute for Contemporary History of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Faculty of Economics of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and Faculty of Education of University Hradec Králové.
